NEW THERMAL SOUNDWAVES COLUMN COMING SOON!

Thermal SoundWaves debuted on WHCR 90.3 FM in 1998. This inventive and vibrant weekly program provides its listeners with thought provoking commentary on current affairs, music, sports and entertainment in an amusing way. Variety is embraced during this live 3-hour show with a music selection of Hip-Hop, R&B, Soul, and Reggae. Thermal Soundwaves avant-garde play list unveils songs that would not be heard on mainstream radio shows & stations, but has definite public interest.

It’s mission is to play music that commercial radio overlooks in addition to what they do spin hence the slogan “The natural alternative to fast food radio.” Balance is maintained by addressing social issues and occurrences that concern the urban community. Guests include entertainers from all aspects of the business. Some visitors have been: Stephen Hill (BET), Fab Five Freddie (MTV/VH1), Jimmy “Henchmen” Rosemond (Czar Entertainment), Ralph McDaniels (Video Music Box/The Bridge), La Bruja (Def Poetry Jam), Marcus Colston (New Orleans Saints), Roy Ayers, Michael Blue Williams, Dave Winfield, Jamie Hector (The Wire), Nashawn Kearse (Desperate Housewives), Yo Gotti, DG Yola, Nina B, Murphy Lee, Ali Vegas, Idris Elba, DJ Scratch, Hill Harper, Tocarra (ANTM/Celebrity Fit Club), and film director Scenario.

Thermal Soundwaves prides itself on being a comfortable setting in which guest can enjoy themselves. It is like being in your living room with a bunch of friends. Thermal Soundwaves is hosted by two distinct individuals: C.Truth and Kevin Lawrence. You never know what to expect from this duo with all of the improvisation that takes place. However, quality entertainment is a given. Thermal Soundwaves has a wide array of listeners from all backgrounds, genders, ethnicity, and ages 17-45.

The program provides entertainment to about half a million residents of Harlem, the Bronx, Northern Queens, and lower Westchester. It spans as far south as 59th street in Manhattan, as far west as Teaneck in New Jersey and worldwide on the web.
