This week XXL’s Music Editor- Anslem Samuel has been gracious enough to hang out and play with us.

Anslem Samuel has been a music/entertainment journalist for over 10 years. After a 4-year stint as Culture Editor at The Source, the New York native became the founding Editor-in-Chief of The Ave, an independent quarterly publication that combines entertainment, social issues and politics. Currently serving as Music Editor at XXL, his writing has appeared in Essence, Blender, Penthouse, Complex, King and Rides. Samuel was also a weekly radio hip-hop correspondent for “Phat Saturdays” on 100JAMZ in the Bahamas for several years.

1. Favorite or least favorite qualities in the opposite sex?

[favorite] Ability to comfort/support a man emotionally (awww) [least favorite] Inability for men and women to communicate the same way or tendency for over emotionality.

2. Boxers, briefs, or commando?

Boxers. Why you trying to be all up in my biz? Perv!

3. What’s more dangerous - swimming with sharks or being a black man surrounded by a pool of cops?

Same thing. LOL. Just the sharks will eat ya, the cops might beat, plunge, shoot, rape and kill you then go to trial and get a not guilty verdict. Perhaps the latter will sting more. At least the sharks are actually doing their job.

4. Would you rather go down on a chick that has herpes but hasn’t had an outbreak in over two years or have a 3-way with Rosie O’ Donnell and Khia?

Three-way all day (as long as I got the top, ladies).

5. Favorite white person? Least favorite white person?

The one that pays me the most. The one that pays me the least.
